研究生新生代表施雨欣在港中大（深圳）2025年度入学典礼上的发言

8月30日，香港中文大学（深圳）举行2025年度入学典礼，来自世界各地的4500余名本科生、研究生（2800余名），齐聚神仙湖畔，踏上崭新征程。

来自经管学院会计理学硕士项目的新生、永平书院的施雨欣同学代表研究生新生在2025年度入学典礼上发言。她鼓励大家在包容开放的港中大（深圳）勇敢探索知识、追寻热爱。

尊敬的徐扬生校长、罗智泉副校长、蔡小强协理副校长、王学锋院长，亲爱的各位来宾和同学们：大家早上好！

我是经管学院会计理学硕士项目的新生施雨欣，来自永平书院。很荣幸今天能够站在这里代表全体研究生发言。

两个月前，我从北京外国语大学毕业，回到了家乡福建。福建与广东山水相连、地域相近。我一直向往这片开放而充满机遇的热土，渴望在此开创未来的事业。去年夏天，我第一次来到港中大（深圳），校园里的洋紫荊开得正盛，紫色花瓣环绕着金色花蕊，一如我们校徽的配色，炽热而庄重。那一刻，我仿佛触摸到这所大学的精神内核——“博文约礼”。

大学校训“博文约礼”，源自《论语》。孔子有言：“君子博学于文，约之以礼，亦可以弗畔矣夫。”

“博文”，是广博的学识、开阔的视野；“约礼”，是自律的坚守、道德的根基。我还记得在第一堂会计专业课上教授的谆谆教诲：“无论为学还是从业，都要时刻牢记——‘诚信为本，专业为先；恪守规范，拒绝舞弊’。”我想，这便是对“约礼”二字最鲜活的诠释。

然而，“博文“绝非知识的简单堆砌，更非功利性目标的追逐。正如培根在《论读书》中所说：“读书足以怡情。”求知本应是一场愉悦的奔赴，一次心灵的滋养。它的价值，不仅在于抵达终点时的收获，更在于探索途中，我们发现并拥抱内心真正热爱时所迸发出的光芒。这份热爱，正是引领我们行稳致远的强大力量。

秉承着这样的精神，港中大（深圳）给予我们的，将远不止于学术的精进。大学是一个多元、开放且充满活力的平台。在这里，我们不仅钻研学问，更要体验生活、勇于探索，去发现那些足以点亮未来人生的热爱与追求。

今天，我们相聚于深圳——这座现代、包容、朝气蓬勃的城市。她联通全国、拥抱世界，汇聚四方英才。在这里，我们共生共长。将来，无论奔赴祖国大江南北，或是走向世界舞台，港中大（深圳）永远是我们梦想启航的地方。

愿我们如那日所见的洋紫荆，让热忱的紫与坚毅的金，共同交织成我们最鲜明的底色。愿我们以“约礼”为根，以“博文”为干，迎着那热情与理想的朝阳，走向更高远的世界、更辽阔的未来。

Speech by Shi Yuxin

at Inauguration Ceremony 2025

President Yangsheng Xu, Vice President Tom Luo, Associate Vice President Xiaoqiang Cai, Dean Xuefeng Wang, distinguished guests and beloved fellow students. Good morning!

My name is Shi Yuxin, a new student in Accounting from DUAN Family College, School of Management and Economics. It is a great honor to stand here today and speak on behalf of all graduate students.

Two months ago, I graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University and returned to my hometown, Fujian. As Guangdong’s neighbor, I have long felt close to the place of openness and opportunity where I hope to build my future career. Last summer, I visited CUHK-Shenzhen for the first time. The Hong Kong Orchid Tree were blooming—purple petals encircling golden stamens—just like the color in our university emblem, passionate yet dignified. In that moment, I seemed to sense the spirit this university embodies - “博文约礼”.

Our university motto, “博文约礼”, comes from The Analects of Confucius. The Master said, "An exemplary person who is broadly learned in culture and restrained by ritual propriety is not likely to go astray."

“博文” means broad knowledge and an open mind. And “约礼” means self-discipline and moral virtue. I still remember what the professor told us in our first accounting class: “In both study and career, we should always remember— ‘Integrity as Foundation, Professionalism as Priority; Uphold Standards, Reject Fraudulent Practices’.” This, to me, is the living embodiment of “约礼”.

Yet “博文” doesn’t mean piling up knowledge, nor does it mean chasing for purely utilitarian goals. As Francis Bacon wrote in Of Studies: “Study serves for delight.” Learning should be a source of joy and nourishment. Its value lies not only in the outcomes it yields, but in the process of discovering and embracing what truly inspires us. Passion is the force that carries us further.

In this spirit, CUHK-Shenzhen offers us far more than academic growth. It provides us with a diverse, open, and vibrant platform not only to learn, but to live, to explore, and to uncover the passions that will shape our future.

Today, we gather here in Shenzhen—a modern, inclusive, and dynamic city linking us with talents from across China and around the world. Here, we grow together. In the future, whether we journey across our nation or onto the global stage, CUHK-Shenzhen will always be where our story begins.

Just like the Hong Kong Orchid Tree I saw that day, may the purple of fervor, and the gold of courage, become the shared colors that define us. May we take the root of “约礼”, stand tall with the trunk of “博文”, and grow toward the sun of our enthusiasm, reaching for a higher world and a further future.
