Exit Procedures for Taught/Research Postgraduate Students
(Applicable to students who complete their studies and meet the graduation requirements in Term 2, AY2024-25)
Dear students,
In accordance with the University’s notice, the following procedures are applicable:
§ Taught Postgraduate Students must complete their exit procedures by May 31, 2025 (Saturday).
§ Research Postgraduate Students must complete their exit procedures by August 15, 2025 (Friday).
To ensure the smooth completion of graduation and exit procedures, the Graduate School has prepared the following instructions. Please read them carefully.
1. 【Exit Procedures】
Please check and complete the necessary procedures through the “Student Affairs Management System” (https://i.cuhk.edu.cn). Follow the Graduation Departure Guide to fill out the Graduate Exit Survey and the Graduation Departure Form. You are required to complete the Graduate Exit Survey before submitting the graduation application. Students can log in to the Graduate's Leave Clearance system and click on View My Application for Graduation to track the approval process.
Please note that degree certificates can only be collected after all exit procedures have been completed.
2. 【Check-out Procedures】 (Applicable to students residing on the CUHK(SZ) campus or at MUS)
In accordance with the University’s notice, Taught Postgraduate Students who finish their studies in Term 2 of AY 2024-25 must complete the check-out procedures from the residential colleges by May 31, 2025 (Saturday). In case of special circumstances, please submit a written application to your College or MUS to extend the latest check-out date to June 30, 2025. Research Postgraduate Students must complete these procedures by August 15, 2025 (Friday).
For check-out procedures and information regarding entry requirements for parents and vehicles, please refer to the notices from your College or MUS.
3. 【Degree Certificates】
Students who meet the graduation requirements are expected to be conferred the degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong on July 31, 2025.
Please note that the degree will be conferred on July 31, 2025. The date for collecting the degree certificates will be based on the notice from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
4. 【Contact Information】
After graduation, your university email account will remain active. Both your postgraduate Programme and the Graduate School will continue to send important notifications (e.g., regarding the graduation ceremony, degree certificate issuance, etc.) to your university email address.
5. 【Household Registration Transfer】
(Applicable to students with personnel profiles in Mainland China)
For household registration transfer inquiries, please contact the Security Office.

6. 【File Transfer】
(Applicable to students with personnel profiles in Mainland China)
File transfer can be initiated after the degree certificate is issued. The Graduate School will notify students of the process via email in September 2025.
