Message from the Dean
Welcome to our world!
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, aims to give its students a well-rounded education that emphasizes global perspective, Chinese tradition and social responsibilities, so they become active thinkers, high-level innovative researchers and skilled professionals. We hope what we do today in this young and vibrant university will be of inspiring value to others, and contribute to the advancement and diversity of higher learning in China and beyond.
In the short period of 10 years since its inception, seizing on the opportunities given by significant discipline developments and to satisfy the demand for talents in the country and beyond, especially the Pearl River Delta area, the Graduate School has established 45 graduate programs, including 22 doctoral ones, covering basic science, information and computer, life health science and medicine, applied economics, humanities and social sciences, and music and art. There are now more than 3400 graduate students on the campus.
This trend of rapid growth will continue in the next few years. lf you are a student planning for graduate education, I hope you can find a suitable supervisor in your favorite graduate program here, and be admitted successfully; if you are already a graduate student in one of our programs, I hope you will not only master the knowledge and skills taught in classrooms and laboratories, but also have ample opportunities to interact personally with your supervisor and teachers, to learn from their values, principles and scientific taste, and their thought processes and entry points in solving problems; if you are someone who is interested in what we do in our graduate education, I look forward to your advice.
